GENERAL ENGLISH COURSE
This course caters for students, from beginner to advanced level, who are interested in improving their English in a wider, general context, whether it is for travel, career, friendship or daily life. The courses are offered part-time or full time, to suit students’ needs and availability. Teachers are fully qualified and experienced. Class sizes are kept small.
Units include all Communication Skills: Speaking Skills, Listening and Comprehension Skills, Reading Skills, Writing Skills, Grammar, Vocabulary, Spelling and Pronunciation.
Topics cover a wide range, including current events, history, travel, money, food, weather, family and much more.
Each course is organised around a core textbook. Classroom learning is combined with interactive tasks and cultural learning experiences with a view to making learning authentic and enjoyable. We use modern, creative and effective teaching methods.
IELTS PREPARATION COURSE
The IELTS Preparation course provides students with a range of skills and strategies to ensure that they are well prepared to sit the IELTS test.
IELTS, International English Language Testing System, is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is the language of communication. It covers the four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, and is available in two formats – Academic English and General English.
Program Emphasis
During the course, students will become more familiar with the IELTS format, learn test-taking strategies and have the opportunity to do several practice tests. A range of resources is provided at NSE to enhance learning. Course books and workbooks, as well as multi-media resources, are available for student use. We highly recommend this course for students with long-term goals and for those who have already booked the test and may need intensive last-minute preparation.
TESOL
Certificate IV in TESOL (10317NAT)
NSE, in partnership with the Registered Training Organisation, Language Training Institute (LTi – RTO Provider 30173), offers this fully accredited 10317NAT Certificate IV in TESOL in face-to-face or in distance mode. This course is designed to give you the skills, knowledge and experience needed to Teach English to Speakers of Other Languages.
Course Content
This course consists of nine (9) core units, one (1) elective unit and practical placement. This means that you not only get the theory behind Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, you also get the hands on experience in putting what you have learnt into practice in a real life situation.
What do you need to start?
- A sound level of ability in spoken and written English, or
- A current IELTS Test Score of 5.5
